We, who are the people of God, have been too long standing on the sideline of the political arena. We have been led to believe that our faith has no place in politics. This is far from the truth! Our walk in faith must be seen in every aspect in our lives; especially in our politics. We must look at the political issues through the lens which Christ has given to us.
Wayne Grudem has written a number of books on various topics, including a massive tome on systematic theology named, appropriately enough, Systematic Theology. It’s probably the one for which he is most famous.
Lesser known, though just as important in our modern society, is his Politics: According to the Bible.
Now I know that we are always to seek first the kingdom of God (Matthew 6:33), and that we are not citizens of this world but of the heavenly realm beyond our fleshly existence (2 Corinthians 5:1-2). But despite that, we have earthly responsibilities to the generations which follow us. I, for one, don’t want to leave this nation worse off that I found it for the children I love. Do you?
