God has commanded us to be strong and courageous in our faith walk. This courage does not originate from us. The bravery that we need to proclaim boldly the Gospel must be of divine origin for the mission is also from the same place.
The Lord is generous and will give us all the courage that we need to fulfill our mission. All we need to do is ask and press on in the work without fear. Fear of this world has no place in God’s mission. Therefore we must put it out of our minds and put in its place the confidence knowing that God is with us. For if the Lord is with us, who can stand against us?

Reading today’s passage Acts 25:23-26:1-32, we get another example of where Paul’s courage comes from as he goes before the king Agrippa to turn a problem into an opportunity. An opportunity to share about the gospel and reach out to those in need.

We have read in previous passages of the difficult experiences Paul had to go through as he testified about God’s Way. While reading in Acts 23, Paul was in prison when God stood near Paul and told him to take courage. At that point, it seems as though there was a peace within Paul because he knew that God was with him and would continue to be with him in his time of need.

God is the source of Paul’s courage. The courage to admit that he once persecuted Christians and the courage to talk about controversial issues…
