It is a good thing that the promises of God are not conditional to the way we act towards the Lord. If they were, then we would have lost the blessings of the Lord a long time ago and be lost in the vast sea of our sins. Fortunately the Almighty’s promises are based on His nature not ours.

The Lord full of grace and patience towards His creation because He understands that sin will hinder us from meeting His expectations. That is why He sent His Son Jesus, to fulfill those standards on our behalf. Therefore let us give thanks to the Lord and to His Christ by adhering to His commands and submitting to His will.  Let us be thankful that God is not like us humans who is often fickle, but God never changes nor goes back on His promises.

I love the Psalms

Reading:                                         Psalm 89

Verses 30-37

“If his sons forsake my law
and do not follow my statutes,
if they violate my decrees
and fail to keep my commands,

 I will punish their sin with the rod,
their iniquity with flogging;
but I will not take my love from him,
nor will I ever betray my faithfulness.

 I will not violate my covenant
or alter what my lips have uttered.

 Once for all, I have sworn by my holiness—
and I will not lie to David—
that his line will continue forever
and his throne endure before me like the sun;

 it will be established forever like the moon,
the faithful witness in the sky”
(NIV).
