Glory to God

Ginrich's Devotional Blog

1 Corinthians 10:31 31 So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (NIV)

One book which had a powerful impact on my life was “Practicing the Presence” by Brother Laurence.  He was a dishwasher in a monastery.  He believed everything he did was important to God and should be done in an attitude of joy of serving and doing his best for God’s glory.  Reading this book changed my attitude toward doing the things necessary but which I considered boring, repetitive and mundane.  I didn’t learn to change my attitude overnight but I did start praying about each thing I did and asked God to help me do it with a grateful heart.  After a while a joy I hadn’t experienced began to stay in me.  Even taking garbage out became a joy.
