Prayer is Important

Unanswered Prayer

Have you ever had those moments when you feel like God does not care about what is happening to you?  For example, suppose you are in a financial or medical crisis.  You pray earnestly for the Lord to deliver you from these trials.  However, the more you pray, the more challenging the situation becomes.

Doubts About Prayer

All of us, even those who are strong in their faith, have had lingering doubts about the power of prayer.  When the Almighty does not answer our prayer the way we want Him to, or maybe He is silent to our request, we feel that the Lord is not interested in our welfare.  With that in mind, why bother talking to Him?

Prayer is Essential

Such thinking is dangerous and can have negative effects on our faith.  Prayer is the essential component in building one’s faith in the Lord.  While we may feel that He ignores our pleas, the truth is, He does listen.  How do we know this?  Because the Word of God tells us so.

Devotional on Prayer

In this devotional video based on “The NIV Once a Day Devotional for Men,” I discuss how important it is to remember that God is always listening to our prayers and there are reasons as to why He delays in His replies to our petitions.  If you like what you see, please feel free to subscribe to my YouTube page.  May the Lord Bless you in all things.

  1. Love this! It reminds of when Jesus taught disciples how to pray in Luke 11, where he tells the story of a persistent friend who keeps knocking on the door and does not stop. We can’t lose faith that God doesn’t hear is, but rather must trust in Him and continue praying!
