Called to Duty

My brief time in the military and in military organizations have taught me so much about being a man, a soldier, and a leader. More than that, it has taught me certain things about being a Christian as well. The Army has seven values; loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. Together, they make the acronym LDRSHIP. In training, we were taught to use them daily in our lives as we go serve our country. But in ways, aren’t we like soldiers?

Granted, most of us don’t actually serve in the military, but we do serve our God as Christians though, right? And we all fight some form of battle, whether physically, mentally, or spiritually. God has called the elect to step up and be apart of something different. We have, in some form or another, been called to duty.
