In our secular world today, living boldly as a Christian in our workplaces seems nearly impossible. Our culture strongly discourages religious activity at work, and many of us feel we have no choice but to quietly do our work and not talk about God. Interestingly enough, many of the Biblical heroes lived in similar situations and were able to use the gifts God gave them to bear testimony even in very dark areas. We can take encouragement from them as we follow Jesus in our workplaces.
Joseph and Daniel were both captives–slaves of the lowest sort. Perhaps similar to working a minimum wage job in our culture. Both were called to interpret dreams to the king of the land–or the CEO in our workplace…
