Death is a decided fact. But it’s a fact many people don’t want to face. We sometimes try to change the subject, but the Bible says in Hebrews 9:27 “… it is appointed unto men once to die.” The only exception to death is if Jesus comes first.
We do not know when we will die. David said, “Yea, though I walk through the valley …,” but he didn’t know from one moment to the next what was going to happen.
You see, God doesn’t have to take your life; all He has to do is stop giving it. It is “of the Lord’s mercies that we are not consumed.” (Lamentations 3:22) Life is a gift from God. Our lives are like a vapor on a frosty morning, here for a moment and then gone. “If the Lord will, we shall live and do this or that.” (
